Print on Print on Print | 4 Ways To Mix Prints And Patterns

In case you’ve missed it, print on print is a huge trend for the fall. We’ve seen it done well, but mostly, we’ve seen it done, well…wrong. Due to that eh…small percentage that doesn’t have it quite right, we offer – 4 ways to mix prints and patterns.

1. Stripes + Florals – Stripes are bold and florals are feminine. The combination of the two says fun and flirty! TIP: Ensure one of the patterns is somewhat neutral so each piece can shine. No need for competition. Below, Ashleigh gets it right with minimal accessories and natural makeup for an everyday look.

2. Same Color + Different Shades – Okay, we’re not talking lavender and periwinkle. If you’re going to be bold, why not go navy blue pattern blouse with a baby blue pattern skirt. Tie the look together with a muted cardigan and hit the streets!
3. Same Color + Inverted Duo – Somewhere in your closet you have a red skirt with whit polka dots and a white shirt with red polka dots. Have you worn them together yet? Reinvent the invert by combining these pieces for a fresh look. TIP: It doesn’t have to be a perfect match, it just needs to blend.
4. Animal Print + (fill in the blank) – Okay, so this is a freebie. There is nothing bolder than mixing animal print with anything. So have fun with it! As long as you stay away from animal print leggings/jeggings, or any other piece of clothing ending in “ings”, you’ll be pretty haute! We like the animal print combo shown below.
