Beyoncé Knowles, international superstar, rapper wife and yummy mummy to three-month-old Blue Ivy, was seen flaunting her amazing post-baby body in St. Barts with hubby Jay-Z earlier this year. The vacation away was the first that the couple have shared with their new baby, who was born (accompanied by much press coverage) in New York in January.
The glowing parents took the opportunity to spend some quality time together sunbathing on the beach, with Beyoncé sporting a fabulous black one-piece swimsuit, complete with subtle peplums at the waist. The classic swimsuit looked great on ‘Queen B’ and she accessorized the look with an understated drop gold cross necklace and large round sunglasses. The simplicity of the swimsuit was something of a departure from Beyoncé’s usual fashion choices – she’s known for favouring bold colours and prints – but it still looked every bit as glamorous.
In April, Beyoncé launched a Tumblr account to share her own personal photos with her fans. Clearly a beach enthusiast, many of the photos show the singer lounging in hammocks, drinking cocktails and scuba diving, among other holiday activities – which just goes to show that the lady who ‘runs the world’ also knows how to take time off and enjoy herself. Last year, Beyoncé spoke to US magazine Harper’s Bazaar to discuss her style inspiration. She cites Kate Moss, Victoria Beckham and Gisele Bundchen as her current fashion idols, and has garnered a significant fashion following in her own right, thanks to her designer label, House of Deréon.
